Danville’s Newest Restaurant: The 616 (Part #2)

We’re continuing our look at The 616, Danville’s newest farm-to-table restaurant that is opening soon. In Part #1, we looked at some of the amazing food from the sneak preview night. In Part #2, we’re going to take a look around the restaurant. Let’s get started!

We’re still at 616 North Main Street and we’ll start where we left off last time…

The restaurant has a private dining room for groups and business meetings. Notice that the table is made from a old historic door. It’s the small touches like this that adds charm to the ambiance.

The restaurant will have an extensive wine selection as well as all other ABC licenses. The television/monitor can be used for business meetings.

The walls of the private dining era are decorated with historical portraits of various leaders from the days of Neapolis.

Even the floor coverings catch your eye.

“Farming is the new sexy.” That’s the perfect slogan for a farm-to-table restaurant.

There were a lot of people at Wednesday’s sneak preview. Here, Danville city councilman Lee Vogler talks with Danville Register & Bee reporter Vicky Cruz.

We heart Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce President Laurie Moran. She’s talking to Danville City Councilman James Buckner and his wife Jessica.

Here’s a side view of the beautiful newly-constructed bar area. This bar will be fully stocked on opening night.

The open-air highly visible kitchen is one thing that high;y impressed me. Not only is your meal made from fresh ingredients, you can watch it being prepared from your table.

That’s the end of Part #2 of our tour through The 616. Since you readers seem to be loving this series, we’ll keep it rolling as our top priority. That means we’ve got more coming up here on SouthsideCentral!
