So what’s going on with the Billy Kiefer case?

Back in the days of HalifaxCentral (yeah, that blog is still there!), we reported on a former South Boston police officer that was arrested and charged with four felonies of “indecent liberties” and two misdemeanors of “contributing to the delinquency of a minor” back in March. Let’s see what’s happening in that case…

Here’s the original story at the HalifaxCentral Blog.

Kiefer was a resource officer at the high school. He was scheduled to have a trial date set on an April 27th hearing, but that hearing was carried over on a request from his defense attorney. Pre-trial motions were heard on August 24th, and a new hearing to set a trial date will be held on December 18th.

It’s been one year since the date of the alleged offenses and over seven months since the charges were filed. The wheels of justice are turning slowly, eh?

We’ll keep you up-to-date on this case here at SouthsideCentral.
