Danville’s 2016 Festival in the Park – Part #1

The 2016 edition of Danville’s Festival in the Park is over, and SouthsideCentral had a great time there! We’re starting what will be a very long PhotoCentral series of articles with photos from the event. The best place to start is at the entrance and we’ll walk from there. Let’s get Part #1 underway!

We’re at Danville’s Ballou Park. Let’s go inside and see what’s here!

We’re at the front entrance. There are always some complaints about the “No Pets” policy, but I’m strongly in agreement with it.

An unmanned Danville police car is sitting by the front gate, and I don’t know why. Heh.

It’s America’s Favorite, Bernice Moore! She’s got the information for you.

Bernice Moore knows that the key to running successful events is to greet people and thank them for coming. She’ll even give you a hug!

The children’s area started off with a craft table and face painting.

This area was used for event staff parking.

The Danville Fire Department had a fire engine ready for any emergencies.

One of these days, I’m going to get some firemen to teach me what this big control panel does.

Two old barrels and a sheet of plywood creatively makes some makeshift tables for the food area.

One down and thousands to go. Well, not literally… but we’ve got a lot more in this series. It’s only here on SouthsideCentral!
