PhotoCentral: August Reidsville Cruise-In – Part #10

Reidsville NC’s 2016 Downtown Cruise-In series starts this Friday (April 8th). The event officially runs from 6 to 9 PM, but the first one of the year usually runs a bit earlier than that due to earlier sunset and cooler temperatures. The downtown merchants will be open, so come early and have dinner at Dav Gerrells’ Cafe 99. (Hint: There’s a Cafe 99 food photo at the end of the article.)

We were running a series of PhotoCentral articles from the August 2015 Reidsville Cruise-In, so we thought we’d add a few more to the series so that you could see what the fun looks like. We’ve got links to the other articles below the cutline.

Here’s the links for the previous nine articles in this series.

And away we go. Again!

The engines of the classic cars are kept spotless.

The streets get crowded, but there’s always enough room to be comfortable.

WGSR’s Mark Childrey loves his dogs and his friends.

Debbie Moore is ready to start the TV show part of the Cruise-In.

WGSR’s crane camera is ready to go.

WGSR got a nice label wrapping on their van. Nobody wanted to see Charles Roark ride around in a plain white van. Heh.

The cars don’t have to be flashy to be classic.

But the bright colors do stand out.

And here’s my favorite part of the Cruise-Ins. Cafe 99’s chicken salad croissant. Dav Gerrells keeps his restaurant open on Cruise-In Friday nights and it’s worth the drive just to get this meal.

Friday night. Downtown Reidsville NC. It’s worth the drive from Southside VA to have a great time at the first Cruise-In of the season. We’ll see you there!
