America’s Sunday Supper – Part #1

On Sunday, January 17th, Averett University’s Center for Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness sponsored the first “America’s Sunday Supper” at the River District Event Center. People from all around the Southside region got together to have small group discussions about the region and ways to make things better. In this PhotoCentral series, we’re going to take a look at Sunday’s event. Let’s get started with the first set of photos!

We’re making our way to the event now!

Yep! We’re in the right place!

When guests arrived, they were placed in small groups (hopefully with people they didn’t know).

Each table had between 4 and 8 people all telling their stories.

School board member Sharon Dones captures the interest of her table.

Danville City Councilman Larry Campbell was listening intently.

Daphne Wall, Joshua Norris and Bruce Wilson were part of the group at this table.

Here’s a look at the ground rules for today’s event.

Dave Gluhareff talks while expert listener Martha Walker takes notes. Brigid Belko looks on.

David Wilson, Avon Keen and Ron Johnson are part of this group.

That’s the end of Part #1 of this PhotoCentral series. Part #2 is coming up next here on SouthsideCentral!
