Coming Soon… Danville’s Newest Hotel

The permit process is underway for a new Hampton Inn in Danville.

On Monday, Danville’s Planning Commission will have a rezoning and a waiver request that will clear the way for a new Hampton Inn to be built on Piedmont Drive across from the Centra Medical Center project.

Here’s the map to show you where the new hotel will be.

This will be a new four-story Hampton Inn. Since the proposed hotel will be 56 feet tall at its highest point, it will need a waiver from the 50 foot maximum height requirement.

Here’s an artist’s rendition of what the new hotel will look like…

This will pretty much complete all the buildable land on Piedmont Drive.

The Planning Commission should easily approve the necessary rezoning and waiver needed for this project and Danville City Council will officially approve this in the December business meetings. It’s a safe assumption to say that construction will get underway once all the permitting is officially approved, and I’m betting that the goal is to have this hotel open for business by the spring Martinsville NASCAR race.

We’ll have LIVE! coverage of Monday’s Planning Commission meeting here on SouthsideCentral, so be sure to look for that article.

UPDATE: As expected, the Danville Planning Commission passed these requests on a 7-0 vote.
