Inside Tyton BioEnergy Systems – Part #3

In Part #1 & Part #2 of this series, we took a look inside Tyton Bioenergy Systems‘ new process for transforming tobacco into a crop that can be used to make other products. In Part #3, we’re going to take a look at the announcement event and start one final trip through the building.

It’s about 9:30 AM on Thursday, and the crowds are starting to arrive. Let’s bring on the photos.

The stage and chairs are all set up.

Here’s just some of the people in this photo: Telly Tucker, Karl Stauber, Jeffrey Bond, James Snead, Brenda Bowman, Mary Franklin, John Gilstrap, Lee Vogler, Matt Bell, Tony Watts, Matt Bell and Steve Bridges.

Secretary of Agriculture & Forestry Todd Haymore adjusts his collar and Tyton president Peter Majeranowski is ready with his remarks, as Dan River Business Development Center director Ralph Hogg makes his opening remarks.

Some of the Tyton employees are here to listen to the speeches.

The media pool is getting their coverage. Danville’s Mark Aron, R&B’s Matt Bell & Vicky Cruz, and WSET’s Tony Watts & Valerie Bragg are here.

It’s standing room only at the back. Corrie Teague & Kim Custer from Danville’s Economic Development office are closest to the camera.

Secretary of Agriculture & Forestry Todd Haymore explains why he helped steer Tyton to the Danville area.

All of today’s guests get a tour of the company. Since we came through here about an hour ago, you can see that the work has been continuing.

The workers are still shoving tobacco plants into the processing machine.

We’ve got one final article to go where we’ll be taking a look at some of the things that we didn’t cover in the earlier media tour. Thanks for reading the most in-depth coverage of this event… only on SouthsideCentral!
