Sam Page takes a dive…

But the Rockingham County (NC) Sheriff is doing it for charity!

Earlier today in our RandomThoughts article, we told you about Sam Page’s latest charity effort. Here’s the details courtesy of Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Kevin Suthard…

Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page is attempting to raise money for Special Olympics of North Carolina, and he is willing to go to new heights to get it done.
In order to raise awareness and raise money for this great cause, Sheriff Sam Page is going to skydive with the All Veterans Parachute Team, while attempting in the process to set an altitude record for any skydiving Sheriff in America! Sheriff Page will be tandem jumping with the same member of the AVG Parachute Team that jumped with former President George H.W. Bush a few months ago on his 90th birthday.
Several local businesses agreed to make donations totaling $2,500 to the Special Olympics of N.C. in order to sponsor the Sheriff’s jump. The Sheriff, in return, will display patches of the businesses’ corporate logos on the jumpsuit he will be wearing during his jump. The jump will be filmed by members of the All Veterans Group who will be jumping alongside the Sheriff.
The jump will take place at 155 Airport Drive, Raeford, N.C. on Monday Aug. 18th. Sheriff Page will arrive on site around 8 a.m., the jump will occur around 9:15 a.m. following a brief instructional/safety briefing from the All Veterans Group Parachute Team.

Here’s a photo of Sheriff Page as he’s looking quite professional.

And you know we’ve got to show you a photo of Sam and his soon-to-be-used jumpsuit!

Heh. It looks like he’s ready to go and have some fun, and the best part of it is that’s he’s raised $2500 for North Carolina Special Olympics.

Sam Page, you Get It!
