Danville City Council Meeting recap (9/15)

Well, the streak of having the media internet account working perfectly ended at four. Boo! So what happened at the meeting?

Nothing. Everything on the agenda flew by. There was nobody attending from the general public and no one speaking during the public comment period.

There were two presentations that were interesting, though. One from a representative of the US Census Bureau, and one from a representative from Cree (a company that specializes in LED lighting). We’ll have more about the LED lighting initiative in a few days.

In the around-the-horn segment, Adam Tomer had some relatively strong words about Lifepoint and the way that they have ignored two letters from Council which had concerns from the community in them. Tomer also talked about Lifepoint officials saying that they would work with Council and failing to even attend a Council meeting.
I’ve asked to get copies of those letters and will publish them here on SouthsideCentral.

That’s all from Danville City Council’s meeting tonight!
