Two juveniles injured in Leasburg shooting

The shooter is in jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

From our friends at the Caswell County (NC) Sheriff’s Office…

On September 5, 2009 at approximately 4:48 p.m. the Caswell County 911 Center received two (2) 911 calls reporting that shots were fired in the area of Brown Road in the Leasburg Community. The second 911 caller reported that two juveniles had been shot. The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the Caswell County Emergency Medical Services, and First Responders with the Leasburg VFD responded to the area.

Upon arrival at the scene, two juveniles were located with apparent injuries caused by an unknown caliber weapon. The juveniles were treated at the scene by EMS and medical personnel for non-life threatening injuries. The victims were transported to an area hospital by P.O.V. (private owned vehicle). There was a third juvenile victim in this case who was not physically injured.

The investigation of the shooting incident conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of:

John Clyde Fuqua, age 52, of 669 Brown Road, Leasburg, North Carolina. Fuqua has been charged with the following;

(2) Counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury
(1) Count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon

This case is still under investigation.
