What’s been happening in the Town of Halifax lately?

From our friends at the Town of Halifax Police Department…

On August 14th, Halifax Police Lt. D. D. Irby was called to 575 N. Main Street to investigate a reported stolen puppy. According to the complainant; the 6-week-old puppy is a white female pit bull, with a pink nose and a black spot on it’s right ear. The complainant noticed the puppy missing from the back porch of the residence on August 11th and reported the puppy’s cash value at $350. If you have any information regarding this theft, please call the Halifax Police Department at 476-2526.

On August 14th; T. L. Traynham of 7009 L. P. Bailey Memorial Highway in Halifax reported the unauthorized use of her dark blue 1987 Honda Accord, valued at $600. The vehicle was taken from 261 South Main Street in Halifax in February of this year.

On August 10th at 3:10pm, Lt. Irby responded to Wilco-Hess on S. Main Street in Halifax to investigate a single-vehicle collision involving a truck owned by Carr’s Used Parts. According to Irby’s report, the operator parked the truck on the Wilco lot and went inside the store. While inside, the parking brake failed causing the truck to roll backward into the highway. The truck came to a stop, then rolled forward over the curb and into a crepe myrtle tree and chain link fence owned by Wilco-Hess. Irby reported no discernable damage to the truck, and no charges were filed. Irby reported damage to Wilco property to be around $400.
