From a Danville Police Dept. press release…
On 06-27-09 at approximately 10:54AM, Officers responded to the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road for shots fired. A 51-year-old male reported to Officers that a male approached him pointed a handgun at him and demanding that he “give it up”! The suspect took the victim’s wallet containing an undetermined amount of money and a cell phone; the suspect then fled in an unknown type silver van heading south on Piney Forest Road
The victim was not injured during the incident but the driver’s side window of his vehicle was shot out; the victim was not in the vehicle at the time.
The suspect is described as a black male with braids, approximately 5’4” 200lbs, wearing a yellow and black shirt, brandishing a black handgun with an extended magazine.
Daylight robbery with gunshots fired. Woodside is to Danville as Westside is to South Boston.
Not a surprise especially where the neighborhood is.
The whole city of Danville is at risk for this because of the large number of Government housing projects. Ever wonder why all the owners of these complexes live in Roanoke or Richmond?
