All righty then… we just completed some random thoughts on today’s 5th District debate in Danville. It’s time to see how I think the candidates did. Today, the candidates for the 5th District Republican nomination had their third in a series of debates sponsored by the area TEA parties. I was able to attend the first half of the debate and here are some random thoughts that came out of the first half. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to attend the second half, but I had to host a TV show at 5PM and had to get to Reidsville. That being said, let’s go to the thoughts… And he had to get ten stitches to take care of his wound… At Tuesday’s Danville City Council meeting, Councilman David Luther talked about Google’s Fiber for Communities program and how Danville should put an application in for it. The ball’s already rolling. $9,000,000. We’re not kidding. Even though it may be true, that’s probably not the best way to grade a paper. “F*** you, I ain’t leaving, and you can’t make me f***ing leave.” Needless to say, he left the party. Let’s take a look at what happened at tonight’s Danville City Council meeting… Just play in the ACC Basketball tournament. And you’re buying one for the Lynchburg police department! For one thing, that would be bad. For another thing, it’s been added to the list of death penalty offenses. But wait, there’s more! We’ve got some photos from the motel that were taken a few months before, so you can see what it looks like. Five hours of traffic rerouting. What a mess. In this article, you’re going to get a chance to see a pair of bald eagles as their eggs are hatching. Medical professionals are always looking for quality uniforms, well look no further. Fifty years of BBQ history is gone from downtown Reidsville… We’ve been slacking on our Thumbs! (that sounds painful, eh?) Let’s get a new edition underway. Another of the organizations’ stupid-ass ideas goes down in flames… Without any training or testing whatsoever, I’m 100% sure that everything is fine. It’s been nine months since we’ve found a news item that qualified for this award, but this one fits the bill. It’s two, two features in one! We always thank our readers for the HalifaxTalk ThreadSpotting submissions, so let’s knock a few of them out quickly. You got your ThreadSpotting in my QuickHits! (Originally published on Mar 7, 2010 @ 17:18 – Updated to review Motley’s appearance on Jessica Griffith’s TV show tonight) Updated If Thomas Motley wants to have a real chance at getting elected to Danville City Council, his choosing not to look back or comment on his past isn’t going to cut it. Governor Ward Armstrong. 😯 Aaaaaaiiiiiiieeeeeee! No. No! NO!!! Make it stop! We had made it 22 days without an article on the 5th District race. That streak comes to an end after a stupid-ass comment by Verga, who said Robert Hurt raised taxes “once again”. Today, Danville City Council appointed Joe King as Interim City Manager after the death of Lyle Lacy. We’ve got some photos from today’s activities. |
