Eric Stamps deserved much better than this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Let’s kick off this SouthsideCentral rebirth with our first endorsement of the political cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nine-term Delegate Danny Marshall was due for a challenge this election cycle. He had coasted to victories in every one of his elections except one. This was the year that a good challenger had the (extremely slight) potential to knock him off. Eric Stamps stepped into the batter’s box about 8 months too early and the game was on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever chance Stamps had imploded as soon as he started campaigning. he started talking about Danville Utilities relatively high rate, but had no idea of why the rates were higher nor how the fund balances stood. A member of the House of Delegates couldn’t do a damned thing about the problem even if there was a problem that could be fixed. He then veered into Green Jobs, which succeeded just as much as you thought it would just reading it here. Then he crossed the boundary to Bizzaro World but talking about bad care at the local hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign meltdown went to critical mass during the recent job announcement when Stamps just went batcrap crazy with claims that were nowhere cloe to being in evidence. the final detonation occurred when Stamps admitted he asked the governor’s office to delay the announcement of the biggest job news in the region until after the election to keep it a level playing field until the election. Buddy, that “level playing field” was already looking like the first drop of that Intimidator roller coaster at Kings Dominion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have no idea what the hell happened, but his campaign management flew that plane into the ground and it’s barely bouncing across the finish line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh yeah, Danny Marshall knows his way around Richmond, is 12th in seniority in the House, chairs committees, is on the Tobacco Commission and gets things done back home for his constituents like he’s done for the past 18 years. He deserves a 10th term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SouthsideCentral gives Danny Marshall our strongest endorsement, and we strongly urge all voters to reelect him to the House of Delegates on November 5th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
