This isn’t pretty, but it looks like the Pittsylvania County School Board is taking “How To Be Dysfunctional” lessons from the Board of Supervisors.<\/p>\n

I honestly couldn’t name more than three members of the Pittsylvania County School Board<\/a> if I tried. To me, that’s proof that they’ve got an excellent superintendent who gets the job done in James McDaniel. But there’s one member on the school board that seems to be going about things his own way…<\/p>\n

Where\u2019s the local accountability?<\/a><\/h4>\n

This is the second time that Wayne Robertson has gone the “Letter To The Editor” route in trying to start discord about things he doesn’t like. That would be acceptable except for the fact that Wayne Robertson was elected to the School Board and can easily find out the answer to his question.<\/p>\n

I’ve got a strong feeling that Robertson already knows the answer to his question but he simply didn’t like that answer. It’s not like he doesn’t have access to the school system’s budget (because he passed it). It’s not like he couldn’t ask Superintendent McDaniel what is going on (because McDaniel works for the school board). On Robertson’s first attempt at pulling this trick, he was rightfully rebuked by the superintendent for grandstanding to the public. Obviously, Wayne Robertson paid no attention to that because he’s back on his public soapbox.<\/p>\n

It’s pretty clear to me that Wayne Robertson doesn’t like James McDaniel much at all and this is his way of publicly undermining him. This is the wrong way to do that, but lots of people who don’t think for themselves will not recognize that. They’ll do the “Hell Yeah, This Guy Is Right!” standard reply and Robertson will continue to make a name for himself. He’ll also accomplish nothing with this except to add discord to a school system that’s doing a good job.<\/p>\n

That’s not what Wayne Robertson was elected for.<\/p>\n
