So, the two McDonalds in South Boston and the one in Clarksville sent a bunch of employees packing last week. Outrage and protests followed. Let&#8217;s take a look at it&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll focus first on the South Boston News &amp; Record&#8217;s coverage of this story because we can have more fun it&#8230;<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sovanow.com\/index.php?\/news\/article\/not_lovin_it\/\" target=\"_blank\">Not lovin\u2019 it<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>I think the stagehands are rolling out a Big Board for this one&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Companies can fire people for no reason at all unless it&#8217;s discriminatory by law. They can fire people for stupid reason that are unjust. I know that personally.<\/li>\n<li>Over 80% of the comments that I&#8217;ve read or heard have said that the customer service was crappy at these stores. I know for a fact that I&#8217;ve been treated poorly by at least one of those employees in the photo.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re going to do the media tour (which they did to booth Halifax County newspapers and WSET-TV), wouldn&#8217;t you at least dress business casual so that you would like professional? How about smiling for the camera? That News &amp; Record photo could easily be mistaken for a police lineup.<\/li>\n<li>In this article, Tom McLaughlin should be nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his research. He went to the Urban Dictionary to cite a definition for the word &#8220;ratchetness&#8221;. Since McLaughlin is as white as a mayonnaise sandwich (just like me), he spelled the term incorrectly every time that he used it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Next, let&#8217;s take a look at the Gazette-Virginian&#8217;s take on the story and a fresh .<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/yourgv.com\/index.php\/news\/local-news\/10359-former-workers-stunned-at-mcdonald-s-firings\" target=\"_blank\">Former workers stunned at McDonald\u2019s firings<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Of course, it&#8217;s racist&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"s1\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">&#8230;According to Tucker, he and the other terminated employees have contacted the local chapter of NAACP to look into the matter and they plan to file a complaint with the organization&#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh shut up.
