Now that’s a pretty good-sized operation… it’s just a shame that the government has to throw people in jail to protect their monopoly on liquor. The ABC board can throw all the “we’re stopping things like this because it can be dangerous if not regulated”, but I’m not buying that one bit. This is clearly a guy who knows what’s doing and obviously has a good client base for his ahem… “small business”.<\/p>\n
One thing in this story caught my eye, though…<\/p>\n
In July 2012, special agents with the ABC’s Bureau of Law Enforcement received a tip that a white male had purchased a large amount of sugar at a wholesale store in South Boston, according to prosecutor Dwight Rudd.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
There’s one wholesale store in South Boston, and it’s Supply Line. I’d love to know where that “tip” came from because I’m wondering who actually gives a damn about moonshine being produced.\u00a0 It’s bad enough that the government is capturing our phone calls and data, but I’ve got be honest that it quite disturbs me that somebody is monitoring\u00a0 purchases made at Supply Line.<\/p>\n

Oh yeah, a special mention to the prosecutorial overreach of charging her with a felony count of making moonshine knowing full well that the charge would be a bargaining chip for a stupid misdemeanor crime of possession on moonshine.<\/p>\n
