{"id":7533,"date":"2012-05-31T22:15:20","date_gmt":"2012-06-01T03:15:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.southsidecentral.com\/wordpress\/?p=7533"},"modified":"2012-05-31T22:16:32","modified_gmt":"2012-06-01T03:16:32","slug":"a-tale-of-two-malls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.southsidecentral.com\/wordpress\/2012\/05\/31\/a-tale-of-two-malls\/","title":{"rendered":"A Tale Of Two Malls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Danville&#8217;s Piedmont Mall &amp; Martinsville&#8217;s Liberty Fair Mall have some things in common&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.martinsvillebulletin.com\/article.cfm?ID=33391\" title=\"Liberty Fair Mall is sold\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They both have the same owner now. They probably also have the same dismal future.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a list of other things that they have in common&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They have plenty of parking that&#8217;s rarely used.<\/li>\n<li>They have horrible arcades with mostly broken video games that were fun to play fifteen years ago.<\/li>\n<li>The best place to eat there is the Chick-Fil-A restaurants, although Danville&#8217;s is almost an afterthoughts once Colin Brady built the one of Riverside Drive.<\/li>\n<li>They both have a Sears anchor store that when I&#8217;ve been in there, I never have seen anybody buying anything. The same can be said for the Radio Shack stores.<\/li>\n<li>They both have mall walkers who will walk right over top of you if you dare to block their way.<\/li>\n<li>They both have a &#8220;Suit City&#8221; in them. (It&#8217;s a blessing!)<\/li>\n<li>And finally, they both have zero working escalators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Seriously, Liberty Fair Mall does have some stores that are worth visiting even though the interior of the mall has a lot of vacancies.
