\nWhat: Today, April 1st community members will be gathering at Nationwide Homes in Martinsville to hear Congressman Tom Perriello speak about clean energy and thank him for supporting clean energy jobs in the Southside. Community members will be showing support for clean energy jobs and asking questions regarding energy issues in Virginia. Small businesses, veterans, public officials, and everyday people are supporting a strong clean energy plan for America that will strengthen the economy and create clean energy jobs. The agricultural and manufacturing history makes this area especially well suited to creating clean energy jobs. Several entrepreneurs across the district have already begun to create some of those jobs that can start putting Southside residents back to work. After Rep. Perriello speaks, citizens will participate in the workshop by learning how to work with a legislator and hearing about local clean energy educational opportunities and business initiatives. <\/p>\n

Such a plan will help propel Southside Virginia into the forefront of the clean energy economy, by transitioning it from a from the leading textile and tobacco region it was, to the future clean energy leader it can be.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now for my comments on this. As I’ve said before, for events like this I don’t care whether you like Tom Perrielo or not. All I care about is the jobs that can come to the Southside VA area with clean energy technologies. I’ve seen the research that’s going on at Danville’s Institute for Advanced Learning & Research<\/a> and I’ve seen the potential that it can bring to this region’s economy. All I ask is for you to put aside the politics for a while and check out what can be done with this emerging technology. If you like what you see, show some support. <\/p>\n
