Saturday at 8:49 am, police responded to the railroad crossing on South Main Street in Halifax for traffic control. A Norfolk-Southern train had encountered mechanical problems and was blocking the north and southbound lanes of the highway. Officers from the Town of Halifax Police Department and Halifax County Sheriff’s Department rerouted traffic for over 2 hours before the highway was cleared.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
