From the Brookneal Police Department…<\/p>\n
On September 25, Brookneal Police Officer Scott Earhart was traveling north on Rt. 501 near Brookneal when a vehicle came through his radar going 101 mph in a 55mph zone. Officer Earhart pursued the vehicle and was able to stop it on Railview Road. Further investigation revealed that the driver had marijuana in his possession and had consumed alcohol.<\/p>\n
Douglas James Simonton Jr., age 18, Brookneal, was charge with reckless driving, possession of Marijuana, and possession of alcohol by a minor. Simonton was released at the scene.<\/p>\n
Campbell County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the stop.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
