\nOn September 18, 2009 at approximately 11:27PM, Danville Police received a call to respond to the apartment building at 427 Wooding Avenue for a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, responding officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound lying in a grassy area near the building. Rescue personnel transported him from the scene to the Danville Regional Medical Center. A male resident of the apartment building reported that he was asleep in his apartment with his girlfriend and six month old child when he was awakened by the sound of breaking glass. He picked up his firearm, went into the living area and saw an intruder. Both the resident and the intruder, Alex Richard Totherow reportedly ran from the apartment, at which time the man fired a shot at Totherow. Totherow was pronounced dead at 12:15AM.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, a grand jury convened and handed down indictments for Stuart Lee White Jr. age 28 of Danville (resident of the apartment building) for second degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the incident. White turned himself in this morning, was taken to the Danville City Jail, and is currently out on a $25,000.00 bond.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
