This morning at approximately 9:45AM, Danville Police arrested Daniel Ray Utterback age 26 of Danville for grand larceny from the person (VA Code 18.2-95), credit card fraud (VA Code 18.2-195), and credit card forgery (VA Code 18.2-172). Utterback was spotted on the lot of Cain Creek Shopping Center by a detective who stopped the suspect vehicle along with backup personnel on the Danville Expressway. The charges stemmed from a purse snatching which took place on the lot of Wal-Mart at approximately 10:56AM on Monday where a 74-year-old woman reported a white male taking her purse. Utterback was arrested without incident.<\/p>\n
The investigation revealed that Utterback was also responsible for a similar incident that occurred yesterday at approximately 2:10PM at Sam’s Club where an 86-year-old woman had her purse taken from her after leaving the store. Charges are now pending from that incident along with the use of her stolen credit cards, checks, and identification. Utterback is being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
