On Wednesday, July 22nd around 12:30 in the afternoon, an Alzheimer\u2019s patient had walked away from his home on Ellisboro Rd. After a brief search by the family, the Sheriff\u2019s Office was notified and responded with the Project Lifesaver Care Trak Monitoring System. Once on scene, the Sheriff\u2019s Office received a signal and the subject was safely located within 20 minutes of receiving the signal. The subject was treated by EMS and released to his family.
\nRockingham County Sheriff Sam Page said \u201cWe are grateful to have such a system. More people should be aware and utilize this quick, safe and economic tool to locate their loved ones in all types of environments who may suffer from disorders such as Alzheimer\u2019s, dementia, and autism.\u201d<\/p>\n
