Around 1:45 PM today, Danville police got a call to the 400 block of Winstead Dr. regarding a child bitten by a dog. An eight year boy had seen a dog loose off his chain and went to the house where the dog belonged. A woman from that residence walked up to the dog and started to take him home. That’s when the dog broke free and attacked the child. He was bitten on his arms & legs, his torso and on his back. The woman beat the dog off the boy to stop the attack. The dog is currently at the Humane Society, and charges are pending against the dog’s owner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
