I want to make it very clear that I am not blaming the owners of Bronx Boy Bagels one bit for the decision they made. They have a business to run and I continue to hope that they succeed. This one goes out to people in Southside that just don’t support good local restaurants.<\/p>\n

The owners of Bronx Boy Bagels decided that during the summer, they were going to open up on Thursday nights for dinner. If you read the SCBlog often, you’ll know that I’m a giant fan of everything that they serve. Well, I get there tonight for a dinner date and they’re closed. One of the owners comes out and said that they weren’t doing enough business to keep it open. <\/p>\n
That’s a damned shame. The prices are reasonable, the food is great and the desserts are awesome. What does that mean to Danville residents? I’m betting that 50% of Southside doesn’t even know about Bronx Boy Bagels and 49% have some misguided ideas about what they serve or think their prices are too high. In the meantime, Southside people herd up to the trough at the semi-new Golden Corral for the all-you-can-eat buffet. (All-you-can-eat? That must be good!). My mind boggles.<\/p>\n
With my work schedule, I won’t be eating at Bronx Boy Bagels anytime except on Saturdays before 3 PM… and that’s a damned shame. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
