I honestly wish I could make this horrible example of irresponsible “reporting” up, but it’s Leonard Harville. Sigh.<\/p>\n
Let’s take a look at what one of our SouthsideCentral friends just sent us…<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The news business is competitive. We all know that being first on a story builds our reputation. Real people in the real news business also know that there are times when it’s ethically mandated that you delay a report to protect the well-being of the public.<\/p>\n
As you can see here, Leonard Harville has no ethics. If the suspected child abusers just happen to be “friends” of his on Facebook, they’ve just been tipped off that the cops are on the way to have a nice little discussion about what the medical professionals have found.<\/p>\n
Let me make this very clear. Suspected child abuse isn’t “news”. If it leads to criminal charges and convictions, that’s when it becomes news. Real reporters don’t sit by the scanner and smear out potential child abuse police calls for service, and they sure as hell don’t publish that information so that potential child abusers can be made aware that the police are closing in on them.<\/p>\n
I encourage any Leonard Harville supporter to challenge this severe condemnation of Harville’s so called reporting here. The comment section is open for you to try to justify this behavior.<\/p>\n
Leonard Harville, you’re a jerk for publishing this information before the police even arrive at the scene. This is a new low… and for you, that’s a real strong statement.<\/p>\n
