When the Dan River gets to flood levels, lots of things come floating downstream. The railroad bridge over the river seems to always catch a lot of the debris and turn it into a makeshift dam. Let’s take a look and see what it looks like now…<\/p>\n

That’s a lot of debris, but it hasn’t dammed up the whole river. Let’s take a look at the opening on the right side.<\/p><\/div>\n

There’s enough room there. Let’s go back over to the left side and look at the big logjam.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

That’s about 200 feet of trees and mud. Let’s zoom in and take a closer look at that.<\/p><\/div>\n

That’s a solid nature-made dam that’s at least 15 feet high. Let’s take a look at that from riverbank level.<\/p><\/div>\n

That dam isn’t going anywhere until somebody comes and breaks it up. Let’s get a closeup right from beside the bridge.<\/p><\/div>\n

I’m betting that the local beavers are jealous.<\/p><\/div>\n
