The Danville School Board is pleased to announce that Dr. Edward Newsome, Jr. has been selected as the next Superintendent of Danville Public Schools effective July 1, 2013.<\/p>\n

Dr. Newsome is currently Assistant Superintendent for High Schools in Baltimore County, Maryland, with more than 30 years in education.\u00a0 Dr. Newsome has prior teaching experience in classrooms of the District of Columbia and the State of Maryland, followed by assignments as principal in an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school prior to his central office positions.\u00a0 A native of Ahoskie, North Carolina, Dr Newsome is also a United States Army veteran.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
