Here’s what’s going to happen during this Museum/Confederate flag controversy. SouthsideCentral knows it all.

Yep, I’m predicting the timeline. Let’s see how close I’ll be.

  1. Museum board makes request and knows to keep it as quiet as possible. CHECK!

  2. Media finds out about it and publishes articles about it. CHECK!

  3. Museum sits back and plays it calmly. CHECK!

  4. Politicians who want no part of this controversy run away as fast as they can. Looking at you, Lee Vogler. CHECK!

  5. Board members and former board members start disavowing the board’s majority vote. Bobby Roach, hello! CHECK!

  6. Politicians who never take a public stand on any controversial issue before their single yes/no vote run away. Mayor Sherman Saunders, come on down! CHECK!

  7. Politicians who don’t mind taking positions on controversial issues take a public stand on the issue. Larry Campbell, spin that wheel! CHECK!

  8. The Usual Race Pimp Suspects quickly realize the can get some mileage out of this. CHECK!

  9. Museum sits back and plays it calmly. CHECK AGAIN!

  10. Opposition start to form from rational people. CHECK!

  11. Opposition starts to form from irrational people. CHECK!

  12. Opposition starts to form from I DONT KNOW WHERE IN THE HELL DANVILLE IS BUT THEY AINT TAKIN MY DAMN FLAG people. CHECK!

  13. Charles Roark will use this topic on his talk show to harvest the ignorance. (Probable CHECK! but I don’t watch that station.)

  14. Museum sits back and plays it calmly. CHECK YET AGAIN!

  15. Flag supporters start to rally their forces. CHECK!

  16. City Council starts getting calls and bulk emails from everybody. CHECK!

OK, so far and so good. All’s proceeding according to the script. Let’s see what’s to come.

    1. Peaceful assemblies will start happening in front of the museum.

    2. 73,000 Danville Police officers will be present at these assemblies.

    3. Museum sits back and plays it calmly.

    4. People will make rational speeches in front of City Council.

    5. People will make irrational speeches in front of City Council.

    6. Museum sits back and plays it calmly.

    7. Charles Roark will get video of the irrational flag supporters and try to paint the all the flag supporters as nutballs and loons.

    8. Charles Roark will try to send Jessica Griffith in the middle of the controversy because he knows what would happen if he did it himself.

    9. Another KKK message drop will happen in Danville because of this controversy.

    10. Stupid people will believe that the KKK will actually show their faces and try to actually do something.

    11. They won’t.

    12. Danville United will become Danville Not United.

    13. Museum sits back and plays it calmly.

    14. The Danville City Council meeting when this vote will take place will be a circus.

    15. City Council will vote to change the ordinance.

    16. Heads will explode.

    17. Museum sits back and plays it calmly.

    18. More assemblies in front of the museum by the irrational groups over a now-lost cause.

    19. The flag is moved.

And the final piece of the script?

      1. Three months later, everybody has forgotten about this.

        The. End.
