Yeah, I Blew It. (7/12/16)

We make mistakes. Everybody does. It happens. But SouthsideCentral is going to come out first and admit it, then I’m going to  apologize for it in public. It’s the right thing to do.

Tuesday’s job announcement wasn’t the big Berry Hill Industrial Park precision machining plant for a Rolls-Royce supplier. That announcement will be coming, but it didn’t come today. I blew it. But that’s not excuse for my mistake. For only the third time in SouthsideCentral history, I’m issuing an apology to my readers.

It shouldn’t happen. It shouldn’t ever happen. But it did, and I’ll try my damnedest to make sure it never happens again.

I expect you to come to SouthsideCentral for the truth. The real stuff. The things you want to know about. Those things.

I let you down today. And for that, I apologize.

Sincerely,

Bruce Hedrick

One mistake is ok after all I subscribe to the DANVILLE paper. Lol

Who the hell would have thought a SUV custom company announcement from an airfield?? it made better sense for the Rolls Royce announcement.

  • Rolls Royce coming here still makes sense from their perspective (They are in an extremely competitive fight with U.S. based GE and Pratt & Whitney with aircraft engines. They are slowly being squeezed out of the market. A U.S. based production facility would help in their competitive fight.), and the announcement at the airshow doesn’t mean they are not meeting with Rolls Royce. There is more to the airshow story than Overfinch, a luxury car brand. Rolls Royce is absolutely at the show. Still, we have big reason to celebrate.

You have not let anybody down, SC. You didn’t blow it at all. Our esteemed Governor (as I call him used car salesman). Made a big deal of this for the free trip to England.

Then they all got a free trip…

    • Nothing political about this. This is a cost of doing business and the benefits greatly outweigh the costs of these trips. Remember, the Republican-led General Assembly passed that item in the budget with no hesitation because they knew the same thing.

Why not list the names of everyone who is on the trip?
