BonusCentral: Danville City Council Photos (5/17/16)

We had a lot of photos that didn’t make the final cut for our article on Tuesday’s Danville City Council meeting, so we’re going to do a BonusCentral article with them. Enjoy!

In this BonusCentral, we’ve got before, during and after the meeting photos. Let’s get started!

Just in case you’ve never seen a traffic light, the city has provided a handy guide to understanding green, yellow and red lights on the speaker’s timeclock.

The city is almost a $300 million organization, not a lemonade stand. Get rid of the Comic Sans font, please. Heh.

One of the privileges of being mayor is that you get your own office. Here’s a look at Sherman Saunders’ office. Yes, the door was open.

When the city installed the new monitors and display system, they had to move Ruby Archie’s portrait. Somebody put it on the back wall and sent Seward Anderson’s portrait elsewhere.

Here’s a wide view of the chambers as Laurie Moran speaks about Business Appreciation Week. Note Lee Vogler’s “Cease Fire Rally” t-shirt hanging over the rail. Also note John Crane at the media table. He’s now got the Danville government beat for the Register & Bee.

School board member Steven Gould & Trina McLaughlin share a laugh after the business session.

We’ve got past, present and future school board members here. It’s (L-R) Alonzo Jones, Sharon Dones, Jeff Hubbard and Renee Hughes.

Nobody ever wants to sit on the front row at the work sessions.

We owed Sara Weller a good photo after we caught her in the floor arranging papers back during a budget work session, so here it is. And she’s the cover photo for this article!

And there you have it, folks. There’s some bonus photos for you from Tuesday’s Danville City Council meeting. We’ve got more coming up on SouthsideCentral!
