Dan River District Friends of Scouting Wild Game Dinner Fundraiser (Part #1)

On Thursday night, the Dan River District Friends of Scouting held a wild game dinner fundraiser at the Big Sky ranch in Caswell County (NC). Thanks to District Commissioner Steve Adkins, we’ve got a pair of PhotoCentral articles from the event. Let’s go take a look at what happened.

Steve Adkins tells us that about 100 people attended what they hope becomes an annual fundraising event. Friends of Scouting is the mechanism the Boy Scouts of America uses to raise the $90,000+ it takes to fund the Dan River District Scouting Program. The Dan River District includes all of Pittsylvania County, Halifax County, and Charlotte County.

Let’s take a look at the photos of the Big Sky Ranch and the preparations for the event.

Here’s one of the items for the night’s silent auction.

This Yeti cooler can be yours if you’re the high bidder.

David Jones & Gary Carroll got a head start on the night’s wild game cooking.

Here’s a look at the dining area at the Big Sky Ranch.

This swing was also up for bids at the silent auction.

More silent auction items were located outside.

The Big Sky Ranch has lots of decorative items around the place.

The ranch even has a “fire tower” type of building that provides an excellent view of the countryside.

The Big Sky Ranch has lots of buildings for different uses and is available for rental.

We’d like to think District Commissioner Steve Adkins for getting these photos to SouthsideCentral. We’ve got more from the “Dan River District Friends of Scouting Wild Game Dinner Fundraiser” coming up here… only on SouthsideCentral!
