Business After Hours: God’s Pit Crew – Part #8

Our PhotoCentral journey at God’s Pit Crew is continuing and we’re glad you’re on the tour with us. Thanks to the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce for hosting February’s Business After Hours here.

Here’s the links to the previous articles in the series: Part #1Part #2Part #3Part #4Part #5Part #6Part #7

We’ll continue where we left off…

This is the storage area for items needed for people that have had house fires.

God’s Pit Crew doesn’t use used clothing because of health issue. Each of these tubs has new clothing sorted by gender and size so that supplies can be pulled quickly to help people in immediate need.

They have a big supply of bedding material to get people restarted after a fire.

Here’s some more furniture that can be given to people in need.

They’ve even got a stockpile of carpets ready to go.

As we move down to the ground floor, you’ll notice more inspirational sayings on the wall.

We’re now at the Crisis Response area. These 53 foot trailers are loaded with tools and gear to quickly get to work once they reach the disaster area.

A big warehouse like this gets cold on a February night, so blast heaters warm the place up.

As we walk through one of the crisis response trailers, the first closet is filled with electrical equipment. Since God’s Pit Crew brings their own generators, the lack of electricity in a disaster area is no problem for them.

Eight down and two to go. In Part #9, we’ll go through more of the crisis response trailers and finally get into the food and drink storage part of the warehouse. That’s coming up soon here on SouthsideCentral!
