BonusCentral: Photos from Wednesday’s Auction

We gave you a comprehensive recap of what happened at Wednesday’s bankruptcy auction in an earlier article. We had the most photos of any media source, but some of our photos just didn’t make the final cut for the article. Let’s do a BonusCentral PhotoCentral (say that fast three times) and look at the rest of the photos from the auction.

And away we go!

Mike Torrence (on the right) went over all the rules for the auction quickly. He’s also good at getting in shameless plugs for the company’s other auctions. Heh.

The auction company had two extra employees there to handle any phone bidders. Nobody registered to bid by phone so they were able to just stand by. Register & Bee reporter Denice Thibodeau and Robert Brooks are keeping track on what’s going on in the building.

Eventual high bidder William Gentry knows how to play it cool as he just looks out the window before the start of the auction.

Micah Torrence, our auctioneer, asks for the first bid. There’s no electricity to the building so the makeshift portable propane heater helped warm the building up.

As the auction is in progress, auction company employees work the bidders trying to get them to up the current bid.

Register & Bee photographer Matt Bell has run out of hands with all of his cameras.

Here’s the corner where all the real bidding action took place. William Gentry (second from the left) and Assistant City Attorney Cory Wolfe (second from the right) made all the bids in the auction that counted.

And that’s the end of the photos. We’ve got more coming up here on SouthsideCentral!
