RIFA – LIVE! (8/10/15)

We were LIVE! at the Danville Regional Airport for Monday’s Regional Industrial Facilities Authority meeting that started at noon. This article is now complete.

Today, the board will approve an endorsement to seek grant money for the widening of Berry Hill Rd., formally accept a $2.24M Tobacco Commission grant for the upgrading of water lines to the MegaPark and finish up with the financial statements. We’ll have a closed session about business development in the Cain Creek Industrial Park & the MegaPark. After this meeting, we’ll be at City Hall for today’s 3 PM Planning Commission meeting.

Richard Bailey stops by a few minutes before the meeting starts.

In the only “action shot” from today’s meeting, Sue DeMasi pushes additional chairs to the other side of the room. Register & Bee reporter John Crane is not impressed. Heh.

We’re underway. Sherman Saunders is not here yet, so Coy Harville starts the meeting.

With Sherman Saunders not here yet, Alternate Lee Vogler’s vote will count today! That sounds exciting, but it’s actually not. Everything always passes on a 4-0 vote.

Ric Drazenovich talks about the widening of Berry Hill Rd. project. Applications are due at the end of September.

Everything that I talked about in the opening paragraph happened. There’s no action taken after the closed session so we’re done. Sherman Saunders did make it to the meeting neat the end, but he sat back and didn’t take the chairman’s position.

I wish I had more to report on here, but that’s it. More coming up on SouthsideCentral!
