RandomThoughts! (5/4/15)

Editor’s Note: Boom. I blew it. I’m now flagging this article into the “Errors & Omissions” category. Susan Light from the Chatham Star-Tribune was at the Centra Danville Medical Center groundbreaking, as well as Gracie Mays from Chatmoss Cablevision.

I’m thinking. Look out.

RandomThoughts! are best served up on a Big Board, so bring one out!

  • A prisoner that was being held at Danville’s Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute escaped from custody while he was being treated at the hospital. That is all. No updates. No word on how it happened. No statements since it happened at 1:45 AM Saturday morning. Nothing more to say. Oh, that’s reassuring.
  • Even the Register & Bee must believe that the coal ash spill is over. They’ve removed the coal ash spill section from their website.
  • Centra Danville Medical Center had their groundbreaking on Saturday afternoon and the only other media coverage was from WSET-TV. See above. I blew this one. Badly.
  • I have to believe that holding the “Make Danville Shine” expo at some other time besides 7:30 to noon on a Saturday would have attracted more visitors, even though it coincided with the opening day of the Farmer’s Market.
  • Domino’s had the large 2-topping pizza for $5.99 last week. The regular menu price is $14.99. Seriously. I tend to believe that nobody buys that 2-topping pizza for $14.99.
  • Speaking of Domino’s pizza. you should try their thin crust pizza with the garlic parmesan white sauce. Awesome combination instead of the normal tomato sauce.
  • Has anybody ever bought anything at full price at Jos. A Bank? It’s always “Buy 1, Get 3 Free” or some crap like that.
  • I’ve never eaten at the pizza place in the mall. I realized it’s been there since the mall opened.

That’s my RandomThoughts! for today. We’ve got more coming up on SouthsideCentral!
