- Thumbs UP! to Vintages by the Dan located in Downtown Danville. Their selection of beers and wines is one of the best in the region.
- Thumbs DOWN! to the City of Danville’s official Christmas Tree. That’s because we never had one this year. Where did the ball drop on this one, folks?

The city Christmas tree is in the same hiding place the flags that should be displayed for veterans day, flag day and any other day they should be displayed. The Christmas tree was probably determined to be a fire hazard by a (unnamed) city official who said that putting flags on the street light poles could cause a fire if they were to get tangled up in the wires so Danville can not hang flags on veterans day like every other city in the nation does on veterans day and flag day.
