I certainly hope whoever did this regrets their actions. I hope that they issue an apology directly to him for their mistreatment.

Riverside Drive lane will be closed Thursday
Weather permitting, the left westbound lane of Riverside Drive from Courtland Street to Mount Cross Road will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to allow for the planting of a tree in the median.
Motorists are urged to slow and down and proceed with caution when approaching this area or consider an alternate route.
You of all people should know that we’re a site about pretty much anything that’s Southside based. And sometimes even out of that area at times.
My position is the same for you, Leonard, Merle Rutledge, and anybody else, frankly. It’s what I told Mr. Benson, too. When you own the channel for distribution, it’s your rules. I don’t really take offense to the same things you do. This much should be clear. As long as I’m invited to participate, I’ll be here. I appreciate the openness to that participation.
Glad it’s nothing more than one tree. If it was 2 yes, both lanes would be closed two days.
I wish somebody interested in covering this area (whoever it may be out of the options) would live-blog this operation. I’d love to know what sort of exotic or mammoth tree requires a seven hour lane closure.

And yet based on the way the world’s worst lines are painted on the road every single year with the worst paint in the world at the slowest pace possible, I think we both completely understand how the crew of probably ten will spend seven hours expertly planting this tree.
