RandomThoughts! (9/23/2014)

I hadn’t realized it had been over two weeks since our last RandomThoughts! article. Let’s get busy.

Big Board, please!

  • It sucks being on limited duty when it’s fall festival time. Hopefully, I’m back to full speed next weekend.
  • No air conditioner in the last 5 days. I actually might enjoy my next electric bill.
  • Looks like it’s been around two months ago, but I just noticed that Don’s Music City on Piney Forest Rd. has closed.
  • I ate at Dell’Anno’s Pizza Kitchen on Tuesday and Thursday this past week around 5:15PM. The place was empty except for me both times. Sad.
  • Jo & Kevin Hawke are amazingly talented musicians. They put on a great live music show Saturday night at the Golden Leaf Bistro.
  • The plane crash at VIR happened and dropped out of the news as fast as the VIR race weekend did.
  • I’ve never went to the Tuscany Italian restaurant across from the airport.
  • I didn’t play Tiny Town Golf again this year. Honestly, I keep forgetting it’s even open for business again.

That’s a long overdue RandomThoughts! More coming up on SouthsideCentral…

How is VIR doing? That track used to be in the news all the time. Outside of the plane crash, I bet I haven’t heard it mentioned twice in the past 3 years. Are they doing well enough that they don’t need the publicity? In the mid-00s, it was impossible not to see some sort of promotion for their races in the area.

  • Thank you so much for the compliment, Bruce!

With the excellent for the money Isabel’s adjacent to Tuscany, I don’t really see how they do business at all. I understand the food to be the same as the similarly named place on South Main. I’ve been to both and didn’t care for either at all. I had better pizza in Macon, Georgia and that’s pathetic because they didn’t have the first clue about what was good pizza in that city.

Hope people support Dell’Anno”s Pizza downtown. Real good deal on their happy hour. Everything I have ever ordered there was great!
