Secretary of the Commonwealth Meeting – LIVE!

We’ve completed this article with some more information and photos.

Our fifth (and final?) LIVE! event of the day takes us to Jake’s on Main restaurant for a session with Secretary of the Commonwealth Levar Stoney. He’s going to talk about the process for getting appointed to Virginia’s boards and commissions.

Refresh the page often for the latest photos and happenings!

We’re underway. Steven Gould is our host today and Secretary of the Commonwealth Levar Stoney is our guest.

Levar Stoney talks about the process of appointing people to commissions and boards. Over 4000 positions need to be filled. Most are unpaid. Lots available for citizens with no specific experience on some. Minor criminal records are not disqualifications for appointment, with those being handled case by case.

Levar Stoney is a very outgoing and friendly man. I’ve learned a lot about the boards & commissions appointment process today.

You can learn a lot more about the appointment process by going to the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website.

We’ll wrap this article up with more photos below.
