LIVE! with Get Fit Dan River!

SouthsideCentral was LIVE! at Cherrystone Missionary Baptist Church in Ringgold today for a great time with Get Fit Dan River and First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe. We’ve got photos from today’s picnic event!

We’re in Ringgold with First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe and Get Fit Dan River. We’re going have a delicious picnic of local healthy foods today!

We’ve got a good turnout today. Well over 125 people are here.

Great entertainment from the choir.

Gail Saunders gets you into the spirit!

First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe talks about the benefits of eating healthy.

Our first course is a homemade chicken and vegetable soup. Chef Patrick Ruocco doesn’t let any fresh ingredients go to waste.

First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe talks to Danville Mayor Sherman Saunders & his wife, Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jessie Barksdale. Danville Vice Mayor Gary Miller and Danville Regional Foundation President Karl Stauber listen from across the table.

the main course. All local ingredients and it tastes as good as it looks!

Dessert time! Fresh Blueberries! Yum!

More fresh and local blueberries in a yogurt-based cream. And yes, I added more fresh local blueberries to mine.

This was a terrific time with a terrific message added to it. Go to Get Fit Dan River’s website and join in the 50,000 Pound Challenge. I did and you can get fit and healthy too!

sad thing about this is the people who really need the push to get fit have no access to the knowledge of the event. Look at the low income people who are obese—pitiful cellulite legs—all these things parks & rec and economic development do is for the exclusive upper crust Danvillians. Look at the river district.

My son and brought 4 children to the get fit at Cherrystone. They learned the different type of foods and the cooking of it. They found out the they liked the blueberries and cream. It was nice and we enjoyed all the local and state personnel.
