With all these new SouthsideCentral readers, I’ve got to make these RandomThoughts be somewhat reasonable. Nah.
I need that famous Big Board…
- I’m going to make one complete day without mentioning Ed Newsome. It’ll have to be tomorrow since I’ve just mentioned him here.
- That being said, Ed Newsome is the most polarizing person in Danville now.
- Killing yourself is bad. Killing yourself over job pressure is even worse. The employer that puts that much pressure on an employee is the worst of all.
- Asking a store clerk to check your thirty Powerball tickets means you’re either too lazy or too stupid to check the winning numbers for yourself.
- Downtown Danville’s JTI Fountain Plaza is amazing. People come downtown to look at the beautiful lights and colors. They also look at the beautiful NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS sign on the door at Jake’s on Main and can also look at all the Main St. businesses that are closed after 6 PM. Will some downtown business (that’s not a restaurant) take a chance and open on at least Friday night?
- I miss the awesome bagels and the food from Bronx Boy Bagels. That’s all I miss about that place.
- Retiring South Boston town manager Ted Daniel has grown to love South Boston over his 15 years. He loves it so much that he’s moving out of South Boston as soon as he retires. That says a lot.
- I hate summer. Now that it’s officially here, I hate summer even more. I’m ready for Fall.
- How long until somebody gets yelled at (or arrested) for splashing around in the JTI Fountain?
- I’m slightly intrigued by a Mixed Martial Arts event coming to Franklin County on July 5th. More to come on this…

Three times now, I’ve been to look at the famous JTI Fountain and it’s barely bubbling. But I went in the daytime. Does it only work at night? Isn’t it pretty dangerous to be down there at night?
The water jets go up and down. Sorta like somebody with prostate problems.
Seriously, the colored light start at night (or so I’ve noticed). As for safety, nah. It’s very safe down there.
I am 100% with you on summer ….highly overrated and I also am ready for fall already .
