If you want to go see Danville’s Museum of Fine Arts & History, forget it (until March 2nd)!
In an effort to cut costs, the museum will shut down until March 2nd. The museum is normally open on Tuesday-Friday from 10AM to 5PM and on weekends from 2PM to 5PM. Admission is $5 and Danville, Pittsylvania County and Caswell County residents are admitted free on the first weekend of every month.
I haven’t been to the Danville museum in over 10 years… sounds like a good SC feature when they open back up, eh?
I am so glad to hear that this is at least for now, temporary! I would hate to see it go. Museums have a hard time these days.
We went to this museum last fall on a Sunday afternoon and were very pleased with it. The staff was immensely helpful and gracious, the exhibits were wonderful and all was so well maintained. The old Sutherlin mansion and grounds were also lovely.
So, when it re-opens in the spring, yes, do a feature I I also encourage everyone to check it out and , in the process, help support it!
