How do you get a -3 rating? That’s kind of harsh, you think?

Reply: That’s up to the users, not me. Click on the “Thumbs Up” button and you add 1 point to the score. Click on the “Thumbs Down” button and you subtract a point. If somebody tries to stuff the ballot box, I’ll go in and clean up the mess. But here, all of the votes came from different IP addresses so it is what it is.

Downtown Halifax, and Downton South Boston were all beautified by the town. Why can’t the town ATLEAST assist in the upgrading of Riverdale?

I was sitting at the hill of the Community college today facing Riverdale and the Dan River. I have come up with a proposal. I have my new research project ahead of me.

I agree with SouthsideCentral. Riverdale is hardly the most attractive entrance into South Boston that anyone could imagine…but credit certainly goes to those people who are making an effort to do something about it.

No, the town isn’t going to “jump on that”. Everybody knows that there’s no money in the budget for anything like that and there probably won’t ever be.

That’s the main objection that I have with the opponents of this plan… none of this stuff in the plan will ever come to fruition. I understand the merchants’ objections of “Why have it in there if the idea is non-viable?”, but that’s the way Comprehensive Plans work. It’s a contest on who has the prettiest plan. There aren’t going to be many jobs lost by this plan (if it ever happened) as the businesses would be defunct is their property was up for sale (like the car wash & pet store is now). Don’t feed me all of these doom & gloom scenarios.

I’m not sure if I buy this “South Boston will never try to help Riverdale once this plan is locked in”. I just don’t know.

Some of Riverdale looks like a craphole. Some of the merchants are doing a great job in cleaning their part up. Riverdale Auto Sales & Mac Ragan’s place are doing it right.

The current property up for sale is the Car Wash. We wonder if the Town is going to jump on that?

Way to go Barry that letter was very well written hopefully they will wake up and realize that it is not a good plan.
